It’s rather difficult to talk about a brilliant, upcoming musician without falling into the clichés of bad music journalists and excitable TV hosts. So when I say that Esther Holt is a brilliant singer/songwriter whom I’m certain is destined for fame and fortune, know that I say that as someone trying to avoid hyperbole.
I’ve known Esther for years, and was a huge fan of her former band Snowy Belfast. When she decided to go solo, I offered my music video making services. Earlier this year, I filmed the video for her first single, the beautiful Countless Verse.
The post-production took a little longer than expected: immediately after we shot the clip, I had to suddenly move to Sydney for six months, so editing was squeezed into every spare moment I could muster. But it was finished in time for its premiere at the single’s launch this past Saturday, and is now available for viewing online.
Enjoy, share, buy Countless Verse on iTunes, and you’ll be able to boast that you were a fan of Esther Holt before everybody else.
